Service detailWhat’s included in a Volkswagen service
Every VW that comes through our doors is serviced to the factory schedule by a VW mechanic who works on these cars every week. We stamp your logbook, use genuine or OEM parts, and quote before we start — so your new-car warranty stays intact and there are no surprises on the invoice. A typical Volkswagen service with us can include:
- Logbook servicing to the VW factory schedule (warranty-safe)
- DSG transmission services — fluid, filter and adaptation resets
- Oil changes with VW-approved oils and genuine filters
- Timing chain and timing belt inspection and replacement
- Brake, clutch and suspension servicing and repairs
- Factory-level engine diagnostics, fault-finding and coding
- Cooling system, air conditioning and auto electrical work
We also handle the bigger jobs — engine rebuilds, clutch and flywheel replacements, and pre-purchase inspections when you’re looking at a used Volkswagen.

Common repairsDSG, timing chains and the jobs we see most
Volkswagens are excellent cars, and like every marque they have their patterns. We regularly carry out DSG transmission services and mechatronic repairs, timing chain tensioner replacements on TSI engines, water pump and thermostat housing replacements, and carbon cleaning on direct-injection engines. Because we see these jobs week in, week out, we diagnose them quickly and fix them properly the first time — which usually makes the repair significantly cheaper than a dealership visit.

Why usWhy choose Memmotts as your VW service centre
Memmotts Automotive has been a family-owned Brisbane name since 1956, now run by second-generation owner Ray Memmott. European vehicles are our specialty, and Volkswagen is the marque we see more than any other. We invest in factory-level diagnostic equipment, so we can read, code and calibrate your VW the way a dealership can — and as an RACQ Approved Inspection Station, our work is independently held to a high standard.
Under Australian Consumer Law you don’t need to service at a dealership to keep your new-car warranty — you just need the logbook serviced correctly, on time, with appropriate parts. That’s exactly what we do, with honest advice and a fixed quote before any work starts.

FAQsVW servicing FAQs
Do I have to service my VW at a dealership to keep the warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law, any qualified workshop can carry out your logbook servicing without affecting your new-car warranty, as long as it’s done to the manufacturer’s schedule with appropriate parts. We follow the VW schedule exactly and stamp your logbook.
How often does a DSG transmission need servicing?
Most wet-clutch DSG gearboxes are due for a fluid and filter service around every 60,000 km. Skipping it is a common cause of expensive DSG problems later — if you’re not sure when yours was last done, we can check it as part of your next service.
Which Volkswagen models do you service?
All of them — Golf, Polo, Tiguan, T-Cross, T-Roc, Passat, Touareg, Amarok, Caddy and Transporter, including GTI and R performance models, plus older and classic Volkswagens.
Can you diagnose a VW warning light or fault?
Yes. We use factory-level diagnostics to read your VW’s control modules, pinpoint the fault and quote the fix before we touch anything — no guesswork and no parts-cannon.
Where is your VW service centre located?
We have two workshops on Brisbane’s northside — Windsor (Unit 1, 14 Cox Road) and Grange (142 Days Road) — both open Mon–Fri 8:00am–5:00pm. Book online in under a minute or call the workshop that suits you.
