Service detailWhat’s included
Whether your air conditioning has stopped blowing cold or you just want it back to full strength before summer, we handle the whole job in-house. Our car air conditioning work in Brisbane covers:
- AC service & regas — recharging the refrigerant so the system cools properly again.
- AC fault diagnosis — pinpointing why your air conditioning is warm, weak or noisy before we quote any work.
- Leak detection — tracing where refrigerant is escaping so a regas actually lasts.
- Compressor repair & replacement — the heart of the system, repaired or replaced as needed.
- Evaporator & condenser repair and replacement — for cooling and airflow problems.
- Free quotations — so you know the cost before we start.
All refrigerant work is carried out by fully certified automotive air conditioning technicians. If something can be repaired rather than replaced, we’ll tell you — don’t spend money on a whole new system before you talk to us.
Why usWhy choose Memmotts for car air conditioning
Memmotts Automotive has been a family-owned Brisbane workshop since 1956 — started by Robert Memmott and now run by second-generation owner Ray Memmott. That’s a long time to build a reputation on honest advice, and it’s why so many customers keep coming back. We won’t upsell you a brand-new air conditioning system when a targeted repair or regas will do the job. We work on all makes and models with a genuine European specialty, so whether you drive a Japanese hatch or a Continental sedan, your AC is in experienced hands. With two convenient northside workshops in Windsor and Grange and free quotations on every job, getting your car air conditioning sorted in Brisbane is easy.
What to watch forSigns you need car air conditioning service
Air conditioning problems usually creep in gradually, so it’s worth knowing what to watch for. Book a check if you notice any of these:
- Air that’s no longer cold, or only cools when you’re moving.
- Weak airflow even on the highest fan setting.
- A musty or unpleasant smell when the AC is running.
- Rattles, squeals or other noises when you switch it on.
- Fog or moisture inside the cabin, or the windscreen taking too long to demist.
Catching these early is cheaper than waiting — a small leak left alone can damage the compressor. Bring it in and we’ll diagnose the cause before quoting any work.

FAQsCar air conditioning FAQs
How often should I regas my car’s air conditioning?
A properly sealed system loses refrigerant only very slowly, so a regas every couple of years is a reasonable guide. If yours needs topping up more often than that, there’s likely a leak — we’ll trace and fix the cause rather than just recharging it again.
Why is my air conditioning blowing warm air?
Warm air usually means low refrigerant from a leak, but it can also be a faulty compressor, a blocked condenser or an electrical fault. Our technicians diagnose the exact cause first, then give you a free quote so you’re not paying for guesswork.
Do you service air conditioning on European cars?
Yes. Memmotts works on all makes and models and has a European specialty, so we’re well set up to service and repair air conditioning on Continental vehicles as well as Japanese, Korean and Australian cars.
Will I need a whole new air conditioning system?
Almost never straight away. Many AC problems come down to a single component or a leak, which is far cheaper to repair. Talk to us before spending money on a brand-new system — we’ll tell you honestly what your car actually needs.
Where can I get car air conditioning done in Brisbane?
At either of our northside workshops — Windsor (Unit 1, 14 Cox Road) or Grange (142 Days Road). Both are open Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. You can book online or call the workshop that suits you.
